Installation Sonus Ex (Machina), lat. “sound from the machine” will give the viewer not a performance of a robot imitating a person, but a unique game on musical instruments specially created for the manipulator.

At the moment, at the intersection of robotics and sound art, there are a number of works in which the authors “teach” robots to play familiar instruments. These projects, limited by human ergonomics, do not fully exploit the capabilities of robots. The Sonus Ex installation is focused not on imitation of human performers, but on the search for robot capabilities that are inaccessible to humans, and the development of specialized musical instruments, taking into account the kinematics of the robot.
