The House in Maslovo Park is located within the grounds of an intimate cottage settlement designed by VFORM studio. It embodies all the principles embedded in the philosophy of the place: delicate integration into the surrounding landscape, positioning of the house on the plot with regard to key sightlines, and a wholly functional volumetric and spatial composition.

The total built area on the plot of 1,800 m2 is 645 m2. The site accommodates a two-storey house with a floor area of 374 m2, an adjoining ancillary building with a garage and the facilities for staff accommodation as well as a bathhouse complex with an outdoor swimming pool.

The house’s finishing materials reflect the palette of the surrounding forest while emphasising status and longevity: warm-toned brick, noble species of wood, and natural stone. The façade is clad in clinker tiles in warm, wood-like shades. The extensive glazing visually dissolves the building into the natural landscape, making it a co-author of the interior. Thus, a window becomes a frame: the land around the house walls is conceived as an artistic canvas on which the forest and the changing seasons create a living picture.

The effect of mutual integration with the surrounding landscape is reinforced by the geometry of the ground floor: here, a glazed terrace and panoramic windows coexist with an open-plan layout, rounded wall contours, a demure colour palette and natural materials. The same principle governs the second-floor spaces — light beige and olive tones are combined with the texture of wooden panelling and textured marble. Subtle, precisely calibrated accents and decorative elements emphasise the balance between geometry and textures. All of this creates a deep, energy-filled space perfect for rest and inspiration.”

The bathhouse complex, measuring 82 m2 and featuring a scenic terrace, projects the same feelings. Here we find a steam room made of cedar and a spacious lounge with a fireplace which are complemented by an outdoor swimming pool and a barbecue area, all these surrounded by meticulously designed landscape scenarios.

Adjacent to the main house is a minimalist structure of dark brick containing a garage and staff accommodation. It is composed of two slightly offset volumes integrated into the site in such a way as not to dominate the main house.

The precisely calibrated landscape design serves a setting for all buildings on the plot — in addition to the carefully preserved mature pine trees and the authentic forest character. The existing spruce trees have been retained to form a natural perimeter hedge around the house, fostering deep integration of the forest ecosystem into the visual design strategy.

Geometry, materials, texture, colour, and lighting in The House in Maslovo Park are all dominated by a single concept: in every detail, the project conveys a balance between nature and comfort, and the interpenetration of architecture and its environment.
