- TOTAL AREA OF THE HOUSE 620 m2
The “Soaring House” by VFORM architectural studio has won the 2025 Golden Trezzini International Architecture and Design Award.
The “Soaring House” by VFORM architectural studio has been awarded the GOLDEN BADGE at the 2025 Zodchestvo International Architecture Festival.
The house is located in the Moscow region on a compact, irregularly shaped plot, which was a challenge that largely defined its architectural form.
The design is based on the site’s visual perspectives, patterns of sunlight, and the simple and functional logic of spatial planning. The ground floor is open and transparent; its facade features glass and satin finish stainless steel, allowing it to blend with the surrounding landscape and fill the garden with reflected light.
The first floor is offset and rotated in relation to the ground floor. This configuration improves sunlight access to the northern part of the plot, expands the total area without overloading the surrounding space, and creates a covered terrace protected from the elements.
To create a sense of lightness and weightlessness, the supporting columns are made of stainless steel and integrated into the plane of the first-floor slab. As a result, the more substantial upper volume appears to float above the plot. The main materials are timber and fibre-reinforced concrete.
Thanks to its design solutions, the house’s interiors are closely connected to the surrounding landscape. Sliding window systems and open terraces create a smooth transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, enhancing the sense of unity with nature.
Inside, the rooms are linked by a double-height hall featuring a sculptural floating staircase made of ultra-high-performance concrete. The thickness of the steps varies from 5 to 8 cm.
The staircase’s complex engineering was developed specifically for this project.
The interiors of the Soaring House use materials that emphasise lightness and modernity. Marble and wood bring warmth and natural texture, balanced by high-tech materials to create harmony between contemporary minimalism and warmth.
INTERIOR
Glass and stainless steel from the facade continue indoors, creating a sense of openness filled with light and air. The design focuses on contrasts between hard and soft surfaces.
The use of fibre-reinforced concrete, wood, glass, and metal in the interiors of the Soaring House not only ensures visual lightness but also functionality, meeting modern standards of aesthetics and comfort. It provides the combination of innovative architectural solutions with practicality.
